About TEAM Portland

TEAM Portland was opened April 1, 2009.  In conjunction with TEAMS Tools For Life, we envision a thriving business in the metropolitan area that provides the support and sustainability both to individuals seeking employment and those needing the specialized services that TEAM can provide.

 TEAMS Tools For Life

Our Mission

To utilize a restorative process which builds community partnerships that enable and support the development of adjudicated and/or high risk youth.  As a result, at risk youth will better integrate, and strengthen their options for future positive life choices and opportunities, within their communities

Our Focus

  • Collaborations with community based organizations and employers to identify and recruit youth whom exhibit barriers to employment.
  • Provide case management to meet the demands or mediate barriers to employment.
  • Assist with cultivating soft skills.
  • Identify work experience that fits within age appropriate activities and work readiness goals.
  • Provide actual work sites for youth employment
  • Provide support to employers to work with identified youth.

TEAM Portland tackles the issues of job readiness at the grass roots level; by providing a nine week curriculum and tailored group sessions that focus on but is not limited to: employment readiness, strengthened communication skills, life goals, conflict resolutions skills, and on the job mentorship.

TEAM Portland is in the business of linking people and cultures to diversity; which encompasses more than race and gender.  Our curriculm also provides focus in regards to ethnic identity, perceptions, and impressions, how it relates in the work force.  Our non-profit is located in the heart of NE Portland, and is directed by two minorities.  TEAM Portland relies on a multi-cultural, multi-dimensional workforce and is committed to diversity among the local youth.
